MediaCentre

FREE MP3/WAV/PLS/M3U MEDIA PLAYER
This is a very small player that uses Windows Media Player (WMP). I still use an old Pentium I for most of my work and the latest players are all too big and too slow. This is simple, fast and featured. It can open and export M3U or PLS playlists. You can drag and drop files onto the player, play individual songs or playlists and more. All the features you need and nothing that you don't. It can play every format that WMP does, including videos and will open with the same screen as when closed. The version for WMP9 has been discontinued. Use the online check for updates to be notified of new versions. It has a Copy-To-Device function for copying and removing mp3 or other media files from your removable drives or USB devices. Simply create a playlist and it will be copied directly onto your device. The all new MediaCentre 3.5!!! - A completely rebuilt all new MediaCentre. A new look interface, heaps more features, better windows integration and in exactly the same size application. The biggest update yet and I recommend all users update to this version. This is to be the platform for future versions.

FREE WATER TESTING SOFTWARE
This program written for The Pool Clinic (www.poolclinic.com.au) uses the Langelier Index to calculate water balance from your test results. It also contains a test for Salt and a test for Cyanuric Acid. Can record further advanced tests including Total Chlorine, TDS, HOCL, Phosphate, Copper Iron and more. Will work on Windows 2000 or XP. Includes print function for printing test report. As used by staff at The Pool Clinic. WaterTest 1.1.2 is here!!! - Now includes database for tracking test results. Msg (NT/2000/XP) FREE WINDOWS NET SEND GUI Msg is a very simple GUI for the standard 'Net Send' command in NT systems. It enables system messages to be sent to any machine on the local network. It's biggest advantage is that no application is required to receive the messages as they are sent as system messages. teamLAN (Windows [all]) FREE LAN PERSONAL CHAT/MESSAGING PROGRAM This is a small chat/messaging application. It operates as an IM application for Windows Networks. It automatically determines when an application is launched and shows other users online. Users can go by their own names. There is both a client and administrator version available. While this is a true peer-to-peer application the administrator can control, warn and kill standard clients. Ideal for small office applications. This application was written as a learning tool. It is unsupported and will not be continued. See Lookup Notes for new variation.

Software News & Updates New software releases now contain a 'Check For Updates' link. This is included with the Lookup Suite, Langelier (Water Test) and MediaCentre. This allows you to check my website for new updates of your software easily and automatically. The link will launch your default web browser and activate a CGI script on my server. Nothing is sent to us apart from your software and version number which are not stored. The script will notify you if a new update is available and direct you to the download page. Occasionally preview releases or minor version changes might appear in the web update before they appear on the website giving current users the opportunity to test the new version first. You must be connected to the internet. Software updates will be mentioned in my News.

Version Numbers My software version numbers follow a simple convention. -[Version X . Y . Z ] X - Major version number. This indicates a major change in the look or feel of the program and its design. Usually undertaken at the time of a major upgrade of the entire application bringing it to a new level of stability, with more better integrated features. Y - Minor version number. This indicates a major change in the functionality of the program. New menus, features and functions will change this number. Z - Build number. This indicates a minor build change. Each time I make changes I produce a new build for testing and occasionally release. To make it easy I will only keep the latest versions of my software on this site. If a version number is not indicated then the software is considered to be version 1. Version 1 means new, experimental and not rigorously tested. Version 2 programs are fully functioning and stable. Version 3 onwards are commercial software quality. Custom Software I have also built a larger number of often smaller custom business applications. These can be used to save time, simplify record keeping or data collection or for reporting. These programs include control panels with the time, date, commonly used applications as well as opening times and alarms, Till & Eftpos totalling software which uses an access database and includes reporting, an MP3 playlist program for hold music, an Access Job Booking database for The Pool Clinic including comprehensive reporting, a booking viewer application and lookup connectivity. I have also been rebuilding an Internet Cafe control application (codenamed netCafe) I built for the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Union but I have now rebuilt for 2000/NT/XP & SQL Server 2000. It allows remote control of an internet cafe including disabling, shut-down, restarting of machines, it times users and records them in a log. This application includes the highest level machine security with registry settings which will lock-down your machine. When the application launches you will not even be able to use CTRL+ALT+DEL. You can also have password accessed user accounts to enable users to logon. These are also timed. The program comes with a separate control panel application and database which controls the network and the very small and simple client. Easy to install, impossible to break. I also have built netX, a compilation of the best network scoping and enumeration tools built into a smooth application that will fit on a floppy disk. It can gather all network details and help identify servers. Can even download LM hashes and will work on any 2000/NT/XP network. I will not be posting this software onto this site due to it's effectiveness. It isn't a program you want people to have, but is a great tool for system and network administrators. Allows up to 8 computers to be individually tested on the one floppy. As you can see there is constantly something going on, and as these reach fruition they might appear here. I can build most applications to suit, contact me for details.
